Rummy in 3 Patti Crown: Rules, Scoring and Stakes

Rummy deals you a hand which you arrange into sets and sequences by drawing and discarding one card each turn. You must have at least one pure sequence before anything else counts. When your hand is complete you declare, and everyone else scores the cards they are still holding. Low score wins.

How to play

  1. You are dealt your hand and one card is turned up to start the discard pile.
  2. On your turn, draw one card from the deck or the pile.
  3. Discard one card, leaving your hand the same size.
  4. Keep going until your hand is arranged into valid combinations.
  5. Declare. Everyone else scores their unmatched cards.

Sets and sequences

Valid rummy combinations in 3 Patti Crown
CombinationWhat it isExample
Pure sequenceConsecutive cards, same suit, no joker5-6-7 of hearts
Impure sequenceConsecutive cards using a joker5-joker-7 of hearts
SetSame rank, different suits9 of hearts, 9 of spades, 9 of clubs

The pure sequence is the rule that decides most games. Without one, a declaration is invalid and you are scored on every card in your hand rather than none. Build it first, before anything else.

Scoring and how points end a game

Face cards and aces carry the highest penalty, numbered cards carry their face value, and cards already in valid combinations score nothing. The player who declares scores zero; the rest score what they are holding.

That is why a hand you cannot finish should be simplified rather than pushed. Dropping high cards early costs you the chance of a big combination and protects you from the worst outcome, which is being caught holding face cards when someone else declares.

Pool rummy and points rummy

Points rummy is one deal, settled straight away. Fast, and the loss is bounded by that deal.

Pool rummy runs deal after deal, knocking players out as they pass a score ceiling. One poor deal does not end it, which sounds better and means the session runs far longer than you planned. Time, not stake size, is what pool tables cost you.

Stakes in the app

Rummy tables run PKR 10–200. Every game and its range is in games available in the app.

Where skill actually helps

More than in most games in this app. Which card to discard is a real decision with a better and worse answer, and reading what opponents pick up genuinely narrows what they are holding. Knowing when to drop out of a deal early is worth more than any of it.

It still does not remove the advantage built into the game, and a long pool session gives that advantage more rounds to work with. For a game where none of this applies at all, see Andar Bahar, and deciding the number before you sit down covers deciding the number before you sit down.

Frequently asked questions

How do you play rummy in 3 Patti Crown?

You are dealt a hand, then draw and discard one card per turn, arranging cards into sets and sequences. You need at least one pure sequence before any other combination counts. When your hand is fully arranged you declare, and the other players score the cards they are left holding.

What is a pure sequence in rummy?

Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, with no joker used. You need at least one before any of your other combinations score. Without it, a declared hand is invalid and you are penalised for every card.

What is the difference between pool and points rummy?

Points rummy is a single deal settled immediately, which is the quicker format. Pool rummy runs multiple deals and eliminates players as they cross a score ceiling, so one bad deal does not end it but the session runs much longer.

What is the minimum rummy stake in 3 Patti Crown?

Rummy tables run PKR 10–200, the widest range of any game in the app. Pool tables commit you to a longer session than points tables at the same entry.
